Earthly Infrastructure® is a proud participant of the International Code Council® Code Development Process. Through the International Code Councils Code Development Process, participants collaborate to develop and update building construction and public safety codes and regulations. The reason for this collaborative process is to help shape the regulations that ensure the health and safety in the communities in which we live, and the industries in which we work, and serve.
During the First quarter of 2023, Earthly Infrastructure® began work on numerous building code update proposals to the International Residential code® (IRC) for the 2027 code change cycle. One of the Building Code Change proposals that Earthly Infrastructure® is most proud to highlight is a code change proposal to the International Residential Code® (IRC) Section P2904.1.1
Earthly Infrastructure® sought to develop a code change proposal to the International Residential Code® Section P2904.1.1 that would fully convey to building code officials at the National, State, and local levels why it is that single family dwelling units should be equipped with fire sprinklers. Earthly Infrastructure® believes that the reason these lifesaving fire sprinklers are to be installed are to provide a safe means of egress in the event of a fire.
