Alaska to California Water Pipeline
Water woes are nothing new to Californians. A native myself, having been born and raised in the dry desert climate of southern California, the thought has often crossed my mind of how to solve or mitigate California’s water shortage that in recent years seems to have only gotten worse.
When I first considered what it would take to build a water pipeline from Alaska to California I knew that an undertaking of this scale would be one of the most complex and costly engineering projects America has ever attempted, rivaling or even surpassing in scope the building of the Panama Canal, and so to mitigate all the risk and challenges associated with surveying, constructing and maintaining this pipeline I’ve proposed three off site core function solar support decks to be constructed approximately 460 miles apart over the roughly 1400 miles of pipeline that has been proposed.
These decks will support the core functions associated with the actual construction and maintenance of the pipeline as well as be equipped with critical infrastructure systems including architectural, structural, utility, fire alarm, Communication and IT/Data Center systems.
