The Hampton Roads Construction News Network (HRCNN) invites qualified professionals, practitioners, and policy leaders to submit original articles for publication. We are committed to elevating informed voices across the building, infrastructure, environmental, and regulatory sectors of Virginia’s construction landscape.
HRCNN is published by Earthly Infrastructure® as part of our mission to promote responsible development, regulatory ethics, and resilient design across the Commonwealth. If you’re working at the intersection of construction, code compliance, planning, or public policy—we want to hear from you.
What We Publish
We are currently accepting article submissions on topics including, but not limited to:
Construction quality, jobsite safety, and regulatory compliance
Zoning, land use, and Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) case insights
Environmental site design, BMPs, and Chesapeake Bay protection
Virginia USBC, ICC code updates, and legislative reform (e.g. SB195)
Stormwater and erosion control practices (ESC/SWPPP)
Sustainable infrastructure and ESG-aligned development
Case studies and commentary on local or regional projects
Workforce leadership, trades training, and industry best practices
Submission Guidelines
Original Work Only: Submissions must be original and unpublished elsewhere.
Word Count: 600–1,200 words preferred
Author Bio: Include your full name, title, organization (if applicable), and a brief professional bio.
Credibility: Please cite sources for any regulatory, scientific, or policy claims.
Tone & Style: Professional, non-promotional, and aligned with our editorial mission.
Editorial Review: All articles are subject to review and editing for clarity, accuracy, and compliance.
